Temporary building closure

Wednesday 8th June

We are pleased to confirm that the Medical Centre in Billet Lane, Hornchurch has been reopened to patients and staff. The building has been thoroughly disinfected by a team of specialists and tests have confirmed legionella bacteria is no longer present in the water supply, making it safe for people to return.

We are moving our GP practices back into the building in phases. Hornchurch Healthcare will return to the building on Wednesday 8 June, while Billet Lane Medical Practice will return on Thursday 9 June. Patients registered with both practices will be notified. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure, but protecting people’s health and safety was our utmost priority.

Monday 23/5/22

Please note that we are answering the phones – it does take a while for calls to come through the remote system so please don’t give up – stay on the line and we will answer you.  We have tested it and it doesn’t ring on our end until you have been holding on for about 60seconds.  We know this isn’t perfect but we are doing our best!  Once again, thank you to everyone for bearing with us and being so supportive.

You can still use e-consult and email us queries: [email protected]

We are working from 2 sites; Upminster Bridge Surgery and South Hornchurch Health Centre.  You will be advised where to attend when you call.

If you already have an appointment booked we will contact you to let you know where it will be.

Further updates will be posted here when we have new information.

Important Update 13/5/22

The Medical Centre in Billet Lane, Hornchurch, has been temporarily closed until further notice following the discovery of legionella bacteria during routine testing of the water supply.

To ensure the safety of patients, anyone registered with Hornchurch Healthcare and Billet Lane Medical Practice requiring a face to face appointment will be seen at another nearby surgery. Patients due to have appointments at either surgery will be contacted directly.
